VanSuya was founded with a clear purpose: introduce authentic Nigerian barbecue and cuisine to Canada in a way that felt bold, welcoming, and rooted in culture. What started as a takeout and delivery concept across Vancouver quickly became known for rich spices, smoky grills, and dishes made to be shared. This early stage allowed us to refine our menu, build loyalty, and stay true to authentic Nigerian flavor.

VanSuya opened its restaurant and lounge in Surrey, British Columbia. This marked a major shift from delivery-focused operations to a full dine-in experience.
